Just The Three Of Us

Well the Legislative session sort of ended early -- day 103 of 105, and we've adjourned Sine Die.   Albeit just temporarily.  The state budget still isn't done, and the Governor has called a 30 day Special Session to start next Tuesday, and we'll all be back.    I bailed out before the final gavel fell and went back to the condo to pack up and pick up Lucy and head home to Seattle.
Yeah, I have Lucy with me in Olympia.  Despite the fact the condo forbids pets, she's staying with me for a bit.  The old farts who live there will just have to deal with it.   She usually spends the week when I'm in Olympia with Tony at his place, but as of this week that ended, as there is no more "Tony's Place" at least in Seattle.   On Wednesday, after nearly 15 years in Seattle as my friend, my brother, my lover, and for 13 years, my partner, and still (legally in Canada), my Husband, Tony has moved back to his hometown of Tampa, Florida.

After our relationship ended, it took some time for both of us to heal, but we were able to remain close friends and I was fortunate to be able to take him to the airport for his flight to Tampa on Wednesday.  Since I was the one that brought him to Seattle to begin with, it was only fitting that I was the one to send him home.   His career has taken him home, and as painful as it is to me, I wish him well and Godspeed.  And because of those condo rules, Lucy will be joining him in a few weeks.  She's gotten gray in the face, and she's nearly 14 -- she's an old lady in Dog Years, and so it's fitting that she retire to Florida as well.
Sometime after the first of May she'll fly off to Tampa to live out her golden years in the sun.  In the mean time, it's just the three of us -- me, the Hummerbear, and Lucy on the road back to Seattle.  It's all I have left.
