Olympia Album #6

According to the paper, we've had a record mild winter here in Washington, and judging from the pics and my memory of a year ago, they are right.  Last year at this time we were wading through endless snow storms, slush, and white stuff.  This year, on February 22, we have crocuses, daffodils, and cherry blossoms in bloom at the Capitol.  Crazy flowers don't know what to think.  It's been warm, sunny and gorgeous for about five days straight.  We all sit around the sundial and soak it in at the Capitol, and despite the gloomy revenue and budget issues, the sun has seemed to put everyone in a much better mood.
Driving to work every morning I go down the hill to the lake and around to the Capitol -- the view driving down is one I keep trying to capture on my camera but just can't -- but on clear mornings like today, the sun on the bridge, the waters of Capitol Lake and Budd Inlet in the distance, and the clear blue skies make for the promise of a good day.  I just can't seem to capture that on my little cell phone camera!
