Freaking Cold!

It's been more than two weeks since I've posted.  Just not a lot to say it seems like as I watch the year wind down and deal with the changes this past one has brought.  My thanks to all my friends for remembering my birthday and making me feel remembered and loved.

Seattle is not known for snow and cold -- on rare occasions we get some, but it's not often, maybe once a year.  We got hit with a major snow storm on Saturday and it's been below freezing since so nothing is melting -- and thus nothing is moving.  I'm fortunate I don't have to go anywhere today and can get all my work done from home.  I took the garbage and mail out and slipped down the drive on my ass, and the road down the hill looks like a bobsled run.  The paper today said "prepare for what could be come the coldest spell in nearly two decades with highs in the 30s and lows in the teens."  Oh joy...

This is definitely NOT motorcycle weather.  I'm going to get out and start the three bikes up and let them run for a bit today -- just to hear the engines for my own psychological well being if nothing else.  There is nothing like hearing the rumble of a Harley to get my blood going and that urge to hit the highway comes back.  I'm looking at flying to San Diego over Christmas and renting a bike to go visit some friends in Palm Springs -- the warm weather and the open road will be good for me before I descend into the hell that is the legislative session.
Maybe this video can help you relate to how being on a motorcycle makes me feel, and why that urge to get out on the road is so strong.
