Snowed In

This is getting ridiculous.  It's been snowing and it just won't stop.  This is NOT Seattle. I've been here nearly twenty years and I've never seen it like this.  Sure we get the occasional flurry and a couple of inches which freaks the city out.  This has sent it into a coma. This city shuts down in the snow -- there is no infrastructure to support removal of it.  When you get 9.5 inches (note the ruler in the picture on my patio table), the world comes to an end here.  So you sit and you wait it out and you shovel the driveway into a snow mountain since there is no place to put it.  So much for the dream of a motorcycle road trip before the legislative session starts.

I can't ever remember growing up Seattle getting this much snow. Last week Spokane got the largest one-day snowfall on record, 24 inches. The winter of 1977 was bad, but nothing like this. It's makes me very relieved that Mom is in a nursing home now.

The idea that Denny Way in Seattle is closed for sledding is unbelievable. I had several friends send me pics from the bus accident on Friday (being the bus geek that I am). I can't believe the absolute stupidity and risk those drivers took. I even knew better than that!

NO shit. This is crazy and feels like the end of the world. Well all 27 snow plows are out and in full force, but threat of 2 - 5 more inches coming.

Vancouver is getting the same thing. We've never gotten this much snow before (at least not in recent memory) and the temperatures were breaking records, sheesh! Supposed to snow again tonight
