BioI was born in 1961 in Denver, Colorado, and was adopted by my parents at 10 days. I grew up in Salt Lake City, graduated high school there and went to college at Brigham Young University. For a long time I thought I wanted to be a radio announcer for a career, and spent many years doing that, but it wasn't challenging. I went on to graduate school at Arizona State and with a Masters in Public Administration/JD, and somehow became a lobbyist. In 1989 I moved to Seattle, and in 1991 I started my own lobbying and consulting firm. Today I have an office in Olympia, the state capitol, and divide my time between there and Seattle.
